I Got My Thrills on Harrier Hill

Back in December, Danika and I did the Catskill-Coxsackie CBC, our territory ironically is entirely in Columbia County, New York.  Scenic Hudson and the Greenport Conservation Area have worked hard to buy and create new parks and preserves along the Hudson.  One of these new areas is called Harrier Hill.  On our first pass, we didn’t find any Northern Harriers, but did on our second.  We decided to hang out there towards sunset, because we could see how the Hudson River Painters were inspired, but also held out slight hope of a Short-Eared Owl emerging from the surrounding fields.  No Short-Eared Owl (or Barn Owl) for that matter appeared, but we did get to enjoy one spectacular sunset.
