No, this post is not about any of the major snow storms that hit the Northeast Coast this past winter (but always missed Albany!). This post is largely made up by photos taken by my then 8 year old daughter Sophia. We were trying to track down Lapland Longspur and had gotten tips of a large Snow Bunting and Horned Lark flock in rural southern Washington County, New York. We finally found a flock and were able to pick out at least a couple Lapland Longspur (a life bird for Danika). They did not avail themselves for photos, but Sophia busied herself with Snow Buntings. The results are below.
