Pete Seeger Turns 90

Anyone who has lived in or cared about the Hudson River, knows who Pete Seeger is.  This weekend, he turns 90.  An relatively unknown folk singer in the 1960’s, Seeger came to fame when CBS attempted to censor his song “The Big Muddy” which was to be sung on the Smoother’s Brother’s Comedy Hour.  Eventually CBS relented and the song was allowed to air.

If you have never seen the PBS documentary on his life, it is really worth watching, not only for the music but for everything Pete has done in his life.  So I can think of no better way to kick of a series of video themed blog posts this week, than Pete Seeger and “The Big Muddy”
